"I can’t even begin to express how grateful we are to you. For working so hard to make all the changes we faced during COVID. You were phenomenal! Jackie was amazing as well to adapt and make changes on the fly. She many times almost ran from place to place. What a great team you have. The wedding turned out better than we originally planned. The Blue River Bistro made a botched reception into an elegant, magical night. The food was amazing and service impeccable. Thank you so much for your dedication and caring. You were worth your weight in gold!" ~Jennifer (The Lodge at Breckenridge Wedding | Mother of the Bride)
Taylor & Cody. It's not very often that we are able to work with locals that live in Breckenridge. So when one reaches out, we jump at the chance to work together. When we first talked with Taylor, she was so excited to get the process going and find her perfect Summit County Wedding Venue. We checked out different venues throughout the county but ultimately decided that they couldn't beat the view at The Lodge at Breckenridge. It was perfect for this couple!
We proceeded with wedding planning as normal. Everything was going perfectly until the pandemic came along. I remember thinking "my first wedding for the season isn't until June. I don't need to worry. My couples are going to be getting married, no problem!". Boy, was I wrong! That first wedding happened to be Taylor's wedding. Well we rolled with the punches, changed plans, to change plans, to just change plans again. When it came to the week of the wedding, our limitations were extreme. But we worked through it and these two were able to have a micro wedding ceremony at the Lodge and a wedding reception at the Blue River Bistro. We worked with the owner Jay at the Bistro to make a spectacular event even with our restrictions. They went above and beyond to make the couple feel extra special given the circumstances.
With all of this said, I don't know if I have ever known a more easy going bride than Taylor. She really took everything in stride and even said that she should have expected something like this to happen. Yes, you heard that right. Ha! She said that there is always something catastrophic that happens on her birthday. And she said it with a smile. Bless her heart! I was just so impressed with her reaction. At the end of the day, she just wanted to marry her best friend. All the other stuff was trivial at that point. But we decided not to skimp on that ceremony site and we made it spectacular with the help of Larkin Owens and her amazing floral skills. The wedding arch was nothing short of amazing. One of my favorite details of this wedding was Taylor's wedding dress. It was actually her grandmother's dress. She had it re-imagined especially for her wedding day. She looked stunning!
The day was not exactly how the happy couple had originally pictured their day but they were married and that was all that mattered. Thank you to Taylor and Cody for trusting us to be your Breckenridge Wedding Planners and take this crazy ride with you! Also, a big thank you to Plum Pretty Photography for capturing and sharing the day!
