White Owl Bride. We had the opportunity to virtually sit down with Bridget Lee the Founder of White Owl Bride, a Portland based veil company. I discovered this company while perusing Instagram :) I thought they had amazing veils, at affordable prices. And if that wasn't enough to convince you, they even stand for a great cause! 1. How did White Owl Bride begin?
White Owl began as a concept several years ago. I had just moved to Denver and randomly found a job making wedding veils for a designer. I was perplexed at how expensive they were, especially when a bride is already spending so much money on her dress and the big day. When I moved back to my hometown, Portland, OR, I decided to start a veil business of my own. I want shake things up in the bridal world; white owl is modern but still timeless - and most of all, affordable! Being a modern company, we are an online-only platform. We accept returns, have great customer service, speedy shipping and beautiful veils!
2. What makes your veils different?
The main difference between our veils and the ones you find at a high end bridal shop are price. We use the same bridal illusion tulle - it hangs well, isn’t stiff. We use ornate, textural laces. Although white owl is based in Portland, we maintain a lower price point by making all of our veils ahead of time down in Los Angeles.
3. How can brides purchase your veils?
Brides can purchase our veils at www.whiteowlbride.com. We have tons of detailed imagery on the site and we have an instagram account (www.instagram.com/whiteowlbride) that brides can also peruse and shop from!
4. Tell us about your non profit.
Here at white owl, we give a portion of sales to Futures Without Violence (https://www.futureswithoutviolence.org), which is a non-profit that helps prevent and end violence against women and children. We think it’s really important to give back and help this cause since white owl makes veils for women and is a women-led company.
